Have questions?

If you don’t find your answer below, feel free to write to us.

Yes, we offer help for R&D tax credits to SMEs and we also deal with RDEC.

As soon as we have the costs analysed, you will know how much your claim should come to. The fee will be agreed before submission is made to HMRC and paid upon successful approval of the claim or receipt of the tax credit.

Most SMEs and startups will be claiming under the SME scheme so long as they fulfill the definition of an SME and conditions below:

  • have less than 500 staff
  • have turnover of under €100m or a balance sheet total under €86m

RDEC is typically claimed by larger corporations.

RDEC can also be claimed by SMEs who have been subcontracted to do R&D work by a large company or who have received a grant or subsidy for their R&D project.

The fees are based upon the claimable tax relief amount if you are profit making – qualifying costs multiplied by the appropriate rate.

If you are loss making and claiming tax credits instead, the tax credits amount is used as your “R&D Claim” amount.

This means a profit making company with claimable tax relief amount of £19,000 would pay a fee of £940.

Whereas a loss making company with claimable tax relief amount of £19,000 and therefore tax credits of £2,755 would pay a fee of £480.
